Original flight schedule 11:30 to 8pm. Ryan and I stayed up too late trying to watch Last Emperor, in our tent on my laptop, because we knew we had a late start tomorrow.
Received word of delay 1 hour or so. At 12:30 or so received word helo was at marble point, 15 min. away but with mechanical problem, so a mechanic being flown there to investigate. We ended up being delayed entire day, just hung out reading, visiting, etc. Hopefully our cargo flight will arrive tonight. We have 5 gal of water left, and very little food other than snacks. Dinner is going to be fried peanuts and rice. The weather at McMurdo delayed this morning, the weather here is now getting cloudier.
Got all my gear packed up and ready with ECW bag and day’s provisions in laptop bag for tomorrow.
Here are the radios we use to communicate with each other, the helo pilots, and McMurdo which is possible because there are repeater stations on selected mountain tops.
